How long do Zebra Finches live?

I rescued 2 zebra finches that were kept in a fish tank with no perches and strong stench in the back of a pitch black closet. The most amazing thing happened today. I simply can’t stop thinking about him. It’s been five years, “five years, next November” (chapter 5) according to Jay, since we last met. Oh! No wonder Tom wasn’t invited to this ‘little tea party.’ I was a bit angry at first, and I thought, really, Nick, what type of a women do you think I am? But I guess it wasn’t all that bad. What really amazed me was that Jay remembered me for all those years. He actually showed me some clippings about me that he’d collected. It made me feel so important. We were both embarred in the beginning, but once we got over that, everything was fine. Jay was simply beaming! He was obviously really glad to see me. He even invited Nick and me over to his house. It was simply amazing! I could write on and on about his house, it really was so huge, but I can’t see how he lives there all alone. He told me he keeps it full of “interesting people, night and day. People who do interesting things. Celebrated people.” (chapter 5) Well, I’d really like to go to one of his parties to find out for myself, they also ought to be really fun. Oh! What more can I say? This small phrase can sum it all up: It was simply amazing. It was wonderful, so romantic, I felt just like a rose shinning in a garden under the sun, even though it was raining the whole time.

What is the problem with my laptop?

Two days ago I accidentally dripped water from an ice pack on my keyboard. I flipped it over and let it dry for a day and a couple of the keys worked. Later all of the keys work. I shut it off and went to bed and in the morning none of the keys worked. I bought a cheap new keyboard and it worked for five minutes before half the keys didn't work, and the e and d opened disc drives. I returned it and bought a more expensive one and all the keys work except for e and d which still open disc drives. Is my laptop screwed beyond repair? If so, I'm broke so I can't afford a new one. My friend mentioned something about it might not be a physical problem as she relayed my problems to her dad, a computer technician. He said that it might need program updates, but all my programs are updated. Again, I'm broke so I can't afford a new laptop, but my friend mentioned something about a netbook. All I need are an internet browser and Word or any doent writing thing. Would I be better off buying one from Dell with more crap than I need or a cheaper one off Amazon or Ebay? I want to get toned and thin?

I'm 5'5, 154lbs and I'm not on any diet but do eat healthy 3 meals a day with 2 snacks in between and i workout 5 to 6 times a day for 30 minutes to an hour depending on what kind of workout I do. My question is, why am I not losing the weight as quickly as I thought I would by exercising and eating right. When I was doing the atkins diet I lost the weight so quickly yes I gained it back within two years, however, with exercising and eating right i dont see any results. I've been doing this for about a month now and only lost 5 pounds, I dont feel any thinner and I'm getting frustrated and I want to throw in the towel and just give up. My bf is doing the same routine as me and he's losing the weight and getting toned and its noticeable. What can I do to not give up.

Why does literature seem so useless?

I have studied literature in high school and have found that it simply does not have application for the real world. Yes I believe communication is important, but in my oppinion that would come from a writing course not one that focuses on books written a long time ago. To me it seems that if we as a society focused more on mathematics and science we could progress quicker than we could possibly immagine. Many people argue that mathematics and science are useless, but what i have found from my studies is that our entire society from all structures, economic systems, and understanding of the world around us. I have no problem with people studing literature as long as it is not forced upon. In my oppinion, I just do not see the relevance of figurative language, sound devices, and deeper meanings. I dont understand why any author would write a piece of literature for any reason other than monetary reasons. I am open for an argument so please enlighten me.

My cat box ALWAYS smells!?

I have 2 kittens that I rescued. They are bout 10 weeks old now. Both males. we clean their litter box daily. And empty it weekly. they eat dry food only. But it seems like we can NEVER get rid of their catbox smell. I even went and got them a covered box with a door and it hasnt even touched the smell at all. Ive tried adding baking soda as well as sprinkled some baby powder or carpet fresh powder. Just enough to slightlu soften the smell. But NOTHING works! We have another cat who is 6yrs old inside and she has her own box. We rarely smell hers. They all eat the same food. We only have to scoop hers every 2-3days and change it every couple weeks just for cleanliness. Not for smell. What is going on with these 2 little ones?! Is it cause they r males maybe? I dont want to have to get rid of them. My kids have fallen in love with em. And they are super sweet!

Ok that's a bit of a generalization but I've seen the same situation as mine repeated over and over. My best friend is a gay guy and he is very affectionate. He kisses and cuddles me all the time. We snuggle up watching tv, sleepover sharing the bed. If he's ill he wants me looking after him (even over his bf if he's got one at the time) and he buys me more gifts than he does anyone else (Inc his bf's). He phones me every day even if we have spent the day together anyways. He phones at like 1am just to say he loves me and night. I have to say that it's between Duke Nukem: Forever and Portal 2. For me, I'd say that Portal 2 looks really interesting; the first game was very interesting and involved a lot of puzzles (and some humor), and I can't wait for the sequel. However, Duke Nukem has been waiting years for a sequel or a remake, and I think it'll be pretty good. Either way, you'll still be getting a great game.

He closed the gas and switched off the electric so no gas or electric in the house. the house had a beautiful fire place but has been removed after exchange. some decors on the ceiling and lumps have been removed. when viewing the property all these items were in the house. Unfortunatley, fish that you buy from a fish store are often already sick when you get them. That is why recieving tanks are recomended. You have to expect about a 50% fish loss. I treat all my new fish with an antifungal dip before I introduce them into the tank. It increases thier survival rate,but there is only so much you can do. Many fish like to rest on the bottom. Don't be too concerned about that behavior. They will often chase each other around. It may look aggressive, but if there are no visible wounds then they are just establishing a pecking order and playing games. A good rule of thumb is to always buy a few more than you really want and the healthiest will survive in a well kept tank. Good luck .

Well you cant set a SATA to slave..their all masters...one drive, one port, The IDE ribbon cable has 3 connectors two close together. the end one of the close ones goes to the HHD set to master the second connector goes to the DVD set to slave. Set the Bios for CD as first boot, HHD as second boot. if you don't have the OS disc in the CD drive before you start up, the computer will just search the next drive till it finds something to that will boot up to. If it finds nothing, it asks were a bootable drive is.

Same dream over and over again??????????????

Ok, I am 13. Ever since I was about 3 or 4, I can clearly remember having the SAME EXACT DREAM A LOT. There are no things changed in the dream ever, it is exactly the same thing over and over again. The dream happens about once or twice a year. What I dream is not even anything serious/dramatic....Its actually kind of stupid in a way. Ok so I am always in this museum. There is always this brown haired tour guide. We walk over to this set of pipes, with like triangular roof-like tops on them. But the pipes are very long and thin. Like, a human couldn't even fit into them! Well even though they are small, the museum guide always says, quote " Back in the 1900's kids used to go to school in these"( I know, it sounds funny) Then she'd be like "Anyone wanna try it out"? "Or try to go in there?". Some random blonde girl, (who i don't even know in real life) somehow goes into the pipe. Then the guide starts explaining how imperfect and fat and flaw-filled our generation is. I always wake up right then.Weirdly, The lady wasn't even being harsh, she was saying all this in a nice calm voice. And I never know what happens to the blonde girl who goes into the pipes. She never comes out. I know it sounds stupid/funny, but when I am having the dream, it always seems to terrify me in my subconcious mode. I occasionally started getting really bad tasting and smelling burps along with an upset stomach and gas. Usually there is also loose stool accompanying it. The burps have to be the worst though, because they taste so bad I want to throw up every time I do it. They can last anywhere from a few hours to 48 hours or so. I thought maybe acid reflux but I no longer think it is that. Now I'm thinking its something I'm eating or drinking, but the only thing I'm consistently eating or drinking is Orange Juice. Supplementing with one formula feed before bed?

My baby is 5 weeks old and primarily fed with an occasional bottle of formula (to this point she has had *maybe* 4 or 5 2oz bottle of formula). 2 nights this past week I gave her two ounces of formula before feeding from the and putting her to bed. I am wanting to feed her 2 ounces each night before offering the but am wondering if anyone has tried this and had any problems because of it. I'm not worried about nipple confusion as she goes back to the with no problem after having a bottle or her pacifier and she has her pacifier daily. I will still be feeding for every other feeding and even after giving her the bottle at night so I doubt it will mess with my supply. For those that have done this how did it work out for you?

Bleeding in early pregnancy????

I experienced that and bled right up through week 12. It was bright red blood, with clots, and at times almost as heavy as a period. The OB wasn't sure why I bled like that, but told me the best thing I could do was relax and not stress over it. She said she too bled all the way through the first trimester and delivered a healthy, full term baby. I quit bleeding after week 12 and went on to have a healthy baby myself. While her bleeding and cramping is scary, it doesn't necessarily mean there's anything wrong. Think positive thoughts! :)

Do you think Fernando Gonzalez needs a new coach?

I've just finished watching Gonzalez get straight setted by some guy named Evgeny Korolev and can't help but feel a coaching change is long overdue for the Chilean. His ranking has plummeted to 13 from number 5 and he's basically done NOTHING since the 2007 Aussie Open final. Larry Stefanki has told him to constantly slice his backhand instead of coming over it and that's digging his own grave. Slicing all the time gives his opponents tons of time to set up a big forehand constantly putting Gonzo on the defensive. It is no longer the weapon it once was and that's all Stefanki's doing. The days of slicing your way through matches are gone with the likes of Lendl and Graf. Stefanki should have realized that long ago but he hasn't adjusted and now Gonzo is paying the price. If Gonzo doesn't start attacking with that backhand, he's going to have another terrible year. What do you think?

I was at a friends house just the other day. She feeds her 3 senior cats and 2 kittens cats a staple of canned food + frozen and thawed raw meats once or twice a week. I asked her why she didn't feed her cat any dry and she told me is was junk food for cats. She actually has a little treat jar with some friskies dry food which she considers to be treats and rewards for good behavior and not a staple diet "by an stretch of the imagination" she quoted. She didn't really explain to my why dry food is bad. Now it has me thinking since my 2 cats are eating cat chow with CANNED as the treat right now. Other colleges will get the more disadvantaged minorities and they do give them precedence over non-minorities. z
