Women lose respect for stay at home husbands?

My brother and his wife has this kind of life. She had the higher paying job so when it came time to go back to work after having children they decide that he should quit his job and stay home. They have done this for 17 years now. He has just started looking for work because the kids are old enough to watch the younger children after school and this summer. It worked for them, but each couple is different.
