Why are Team Mc Cann so determined to undermine the Portuguese Police?

If Kate and Gerry are as innocent as Team Mc Cann cliam, surely they have nothing to worry about. Why this high profile ault on the integrity of the Police. Also. since the DNA evidence was examined in England, does that not undermine these claims being posted about the Mc Canns being set up?
