Change the wording of this?

EVERYTHING IS FINE. is sad and tragic, yet there remain glimmers of hope in Mazzy's tale. Like her mother, she is an artist and finds in art and the creative process strength and healing. Ellis's prose is spare with little dialogue; what we read is mostly Mazzy's thoughts and reactions to the almost inconceivable cirstances around her. As the story unfolds, we learn more about the event that damaged her family and why both she and her mother feel guilty. This guilt, though destructive, may also be the key to bringing them together again in health and healing.
