Where can i find a salon in minnesota that starts dreadlocks on caucasian hair, but without using a perm?

I am trying to find a salon in minnesota that will do dreadlocks on Caucasian hair, but I am trying to avoid a dread perm. I think crochet would be ideal, but I am having trouble finding anything in Minneapolis that doesn't involve a dread perm, at least for white girls. Any suggestions (without rude comments would be swell)?
